19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first trophy for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former world number one, has had a difficult year, winning just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in specific - led to him falling of the top ten and finally separating with former mentor Cervara.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks his first title since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court since that period of that year.
Victory also signifies he has secured twenty-one championships at 21 different tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my children simultaneously, so to get a title is particularly special," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
His retrieving strategy and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to question if his skill to perform at the elite level was over.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play aggressively, backed up by an improved serve.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players exchanged break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his first professional title, took control to push for a third set.
He rescued four early break points in a competitive final set before the champion won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he earned victory with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
