The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Table

Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot including celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the urban setting.

Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of heroes who will separate from the main group to embark on their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.

At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.

Casimir then settled his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Character Drivers

Secondly, each character has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks vengeance.
  • The adventurer has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile location.
  • The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • However, their position as important members in the influential clan could assist the group reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and The cleric turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This results in them little choice but to head to the northern region in quest for the traitor.

What’s Next?

Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party will be absent the following episode, leaving the other eight players to round up the Explorers and Schemers parties.

Fans can look forward to discovering which players will be in which group in the season’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
